Staying Balanced When the World is on Tilt
A Talk by Joy Kendall (Owner/Founder, Kendall Individual, Family and Marriage Therapists, Inc.)
About this Talk
It is not only adults who get stressed out by world events. Children and youth respond to global stressors, even when they are not directly impacted by them. They just respond differently. It is sometimes difficult to know how to manage behaviors and emotions that don't seem to match up with what is going on in the moment. Understanding sources of mood swings is helpful in helping manage them, but what do we do when we aren't sure why we are doing what we are doing or feeling what we are feeling?
This interview with Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Joy Kendall, will give you insights on how to support healthy emotional responses without relying on pharmaceuticals. Joy will talk about the role food plays in determining our mood and in supporting our self-regulation (good behaviors), provide some tools to keep our cool in the moment and to enhance our sense of well-being, as well as share a strategic method for getting to the core of an issue (even if we don't have a conscious memory of how it started) and bring it to resolution in the here and now. The video is 37 minutes.
